We were driving across town yesterday afternoon when we passed an ambulance awkwardly parked by the side of the road. I said a meditation that I use when I see such things--an accident, an ambulance, a funeral. "May your mind be well. May your body be well. May you be free from fear. May loving kindness surround you and fill your days."From the backseat, from my little one, I hear, "Somebody was just now born. Just this second." Then, "Somebody just died. Just this second."
